There is a link at Durham Literacy Centre, to a YouTube-posted video, about the importance of prediction in reading. It is brief, and suggests 5 dotpoints to encourage students to predict, when reading. The points are listed in the final frame of the video.
The video was made for parents (or teachers) of children, but the ideas are equally applicable to adults. I think I’ll give them a try.
